You might be wondering why I am wearing these very futuristic goggles, the reason is a simple one I've come to a very savvy and technological fair that will showcase the best that can be found in Africa.

"Effectively we are flying these drones First person view, and that means we are sitting in a chair controlling them with a standard RC controller it has a cctv camera on the drone and we wear goggles similar to these and we fly them as if we are sitting inside them, this technology is going global and it's a massive craze in Africa and South Africa," said Alan Ball, founder of Flying Robot.

This event hopes to inform, entertain and inspire people, bringing them closer to technology.

"I hope when people come here they get inspiration and confidence to go and do things that they wouldn't do other wise," said Gareth Knight, founder of Tech4Africa.

"We need technology and innovation to haul ourselves into the 21st century, so I think it is absolutely vital, there is so much opportunity in these developing markets and technology is what is going allow us to create some scale and take advantage of it," said Andy Hadfield, CEO of For Good.

Over two days this event provides entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their savvy products and inspire other generations.

"I designed and print my own 3 D printer, so i started designing my own, It started to be so successful that it won an international prize and now I have a successful business based on it," said Quentin Harley, founder of Morgan 3D Printings.

"As a country we need a good foundation for these kids be them disadvantaged or privileged they need a good foundation tech base, that could better their communities and environment and just play around, it is cool stuff," Mixo Ngoveni, founder of Geekulcha Company.

"It is important because I just found out I have a passion for robotics and I am very creative and can create many thing," said a student named Zanele.

"When I am older I want to be a robotic engineer I want to design robots and also make some. If I believe in changing the world then I am sure I will be able to," said a student named Princess.

Tech4Africa's vision is simple.

It believes it can promote co-operation, innovation and the exchange of new ideas in technology across Africa and the quicker it happens the better.
